How are students different? What do we need to do for them (that was not done for us)?
As teachers in this new technology driven, video game invested era, we must embrace these digital resources as a learning tool to better suit each individual student. Give them more ways to succeed, not more motivational ways to complete the one way given to succeed, as Haskell so nicely put it. Take light to a new millennium where each student learns differently, as we are all unique as students and teachers. Not just categorizing each student as a/n"auditory"or"visual" learner, but go further, dig deeper, use each individuals personal interests outside the classroom, as varied as they may be, in the pursuit of educating our youth. We must USE these interests as a motivational tools in the classroom and to relate with our children, show them a new way of learning, one which is better fit to their individual needs. Not to say we need to abolish all organizational skills and throw our textbooks out the window, but if we want to PROGRESS and MOVE FORWARD as a nation, educationally, CHANGE is necessary :)
