Hello all! My name is Taylor Hutchins, but I've gone by "Hutch" since I can remember, and I am now a quarter of a century old (25). And no, I haven't been struggling through college for the past 7 years of my life; I chose to test out the “blue collar” or workers world after I was injured in my first stint at college playing football. On a side note yes, sports are a major part of my life and always will be. I spent roughly 4 to 5 years working for numerous companies in multiple fields, but mostly for low voltage electricians doing installations and maintenance for companies such as Comcast. After which I returned to community college to earn enough credits to eventually transfer here to Boise state, but frankly that 7 years of my life was just pure nomadic chaos.
My journey started in the San Francisco Bay Area, where I was born and raised in a town of about 40,000 called Benicia. When I was 17 I left home and haven't returned since, except to have delicious turkey dinners and receive gifts once a year respectfully. I have since called such places as Fort Collins, Denver, and Westminster in Colorado and Seattle, Cheney, and Spokane in Washington as well as Priest Lake and now finally Boise, Idaho HOME. So you could say I've seen a few different types of culture and few different types of weather in my day. But I'm happy to now be settled in Boise, Idaho and on my way to a BA in Exercise Science and eventually a MBA in Physical Therapy.
As far as teaching goes, I don't exactly fall into the norm of classroom teaching, but I am more interested in the teaching of athletes of all types. MY goal is to one-day train athletes in sport specific exercise and team-oriented training on a day-to-day basis, while also having the ability to rehabilitate any injuries that may occur along the line. I want to work with people of all ages in a few specific sports such as football to try and give them the "advanced" type of training at a younger age than most, including myself, will ever receive to better there chance of playing at a higher level. In the end, I just want to enjoy my job and work within the sporting industry, regardless of pay, because I now realize that is what will make me happy and that's what is most important to me!
